INDIA... A truly incredible land was the first country outside of Great Britain to take up the game of golf. Indeed, like other Asian countries, India is promoting itself as a great golf destination and has over 140 golf courses amongst which the Royal Calcutta Golf Club (established in 1829) is the oldest golf club in the world and the first outside Great Britain. Not only this, India also owes the highest green golf course in the world, Gulmarg Golf Course in Kashmir.
